UN chief, Iran's top diplomat review progress in negotiations with US
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss the latest developments in the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States.
During the call, Guterres expressed his condolences and sympathy to the Iranian people and government following the death of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the late leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution, ISNA reports, citing the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
The two officials also exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues, including the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, the implementation of the agreement to end military hostilities against Lebanon, developments following the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, and the latest progress in the ongoing negotiation process.
