UN says Israel obstructing fuel deliveries to Gaza hospitals
21 April 2024 10:18
Humanitarian convoys failed to deliver fuel for generators to hospitals in the Gaza Strip due to obstacles from the Israeli authorities.
This was reported by the office of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in Palestine, TASS reports.
"Today, two thirds of coordinated humanitarian missions in Gaza faced obstacles or significant delays from the Israeli authorities. On average, each mission faced a delay of five hours before they were allowed to proceed," a post on X (formerly Twitter) noted.
"As a result, critical supplies, equipment and fuel for standby generators were not delivered to hospitals," UN OCHA said in a statement.
