Underwater unmanned vehicle found near port in Türkiye’s Artvin province

An underwater unmanned vehicle was discovered in the Hopa district of Türkiye’s Artvin province, prompting emergency services to be placed on alert.

The device was spotted near Hopa Port and the Esenkıyı coastline. Coast Guard units were dispatched to the area, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.

As the vehicle was located close to the shore, security measures in the area were reinforced.

In particular, the highway between Kemalpaşa and Hopa was closed in both directions. Emergency response operations are ongoing.

The characteristics and origin of the device will be determined after the investigation is completed.
