Unknown man attacks passersby in Israel's Be'er Sheva Casualties reported
An armed attack was committed on passers-by in the city of Be'er-Sheva in the south of Israel, according to the press service of the Israeli police.
The incident occurred in the area of the central bus station, there is suspicion that this is a terrorist attack. The attacker was neutralized, large police forces arrived on the scene, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
According to the Magen David Adom ambulance service, a 25-year-old girl was killed and ten others were wounded. The service specified that five of them are in moderate condition, with “gunshot wounds.” The rest of the victims were injured by shards of glass or injured with blunt objects. “Channel 9” wrote that the male attacker was carrying a knife.
Israeli police said the attacker was killed. “Numerous police forces are working at the scene,” the agency added.
The Times of Israel writes that police are investigating “whether the attack was carried out with a knife and firearms.” Ynet notes that the attacker entered the bus station through a McDonald's. According to the publication, he is a resident of the “Bedouin diaspora” in Israel's Negev desert and has a previous criminal record.
