Up to 80 detained in major security operation in Georgia

A large-scale security operation is underway in the Adjara region of Georgia, involving hundreds of personnel from the Interior Ministry and the State Security Service.

According to Caliber.Az, citing local media, the operation is taking place in the village of Sharabidzeebi, where up to 80 individuals have been detained on suspicion of links to criminal networks.

Authorities said a 75-year-old woman was injured during the operation and has been hospitalised in Batumi.

Both the Interior Ministry and the State Security Service indicated that an official statement on the operation would be released later.
