US ambassador to Armenia ends three-year mission
US Ambassador to Armenia, Kristina Kvien, is set to conclude her three-year diplomatic mission in the country in mid-January 2026, the US Embassy announced.
The embassy’s press service confirmed the ambassador’s upcoming departure, noting that US policy toward Armenia will remain consistent, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
“US policy on Armenia will not change when the Ambassador departs. The United States remains committed to its partnership with Armenia, and looks forward to advancing the US-Armenia Strategic Partnership and implementing the bilateral agreements President Trump and Prime Minister Pashinyan signed at the historic August 8 Peace Summit in Washington,” the embassy stated.
The announcement was made a day after the AP reported that US chiefs of mission in at least 29 countries, including Armenia, were informed by the Trump administration last week that their tenures would end in January.
