US concerned ceasefire could allow Iran to rebuild missile arsenal
11 April 2026 11:44
US intelligence agencies believe Iran continues to retain a substantial missile capability despite the destruction of parts of its launch infrastructure, the US media has reported.
According to the publication, Tehran still possesses thousands of ballistic missiles that could be deployed from underground storage facilities and concealed launch systems.
US officials familiar with intelligence assessments say damaged Iranian launchers are likely to be repairable and could return to service following reconstruction work.
The report also said some US officials are concerned that a current ceasefire arrangement could give Iran the opportunity to replenish its missile stockpiles and restore degraded military capabilities.
