US condemns attack on Israeli consulate in Istanbul
U.S. Ambassador to Türkiye Tom Barrack has strongly condemned an attack on the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul, describing it as an assault on the foundations of international diplomacy.
In a statement posted on X, he noted that the United States condemns "in the strongest terms" the attack on the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul on April 7, Caliber.Az reports.
"Attacks on diplomatic missions are attacks on the international order — and an assault on the principles that bind nations together. We commend Türkiye and Turkish security forces for their swift and decisive response," he wrote.

The remarks came after reports of an incident targeting the Israeli diplomatic mission in Türkiye's largest city. Three suspects were neutralised during the shooting and two policemen were injured.
