A U.S. government aircraft carrying senior American officials landed in Islamabad on April 11 for peace talks with Iran, two Pakistani sources told Reuters.
Earlier, the Iranian delegation led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf arrived in the Pakistani capital late on April 10 to take part in the negotiations.
According to reports, Iran’s delegation consists of more than 70 people, including the main negotiating team, members of technical and specialist committees, as well as media representatives.
Washington and Tehran are expected to begin talks aimed at ending the six-week conflict between the two sides, which has killed thousands across the Middle East, disrupted energy supplies, fuelled inflation, and slowed the global economy.
