US European Command delegates visit Armenia
A delegation from the US European Command (EUCOM), led by Brig. Gen. Chris McKinney, Director of Partnering, Security Cooperation, and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, has visited Armenia to support the outcomes of the August 8 White House peace summit.
“EUCOM is working closely with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense to advance shared objectives in support of sustained peace, including enhanced cooperation on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defense and continued military modernization efforts,” Caliber.Az quotes the X post by the US embassy in Armenia.
The McKinney visit is built on the August 8 trilateral meeting between President Donald Trump, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, where the leaders initialed a peace framework and seven-point declaration committing to mutual border recognition, an end to hostilities, and the TRIPP infrastructure corridor—a 99-year U.S.-managed transit route through Armenia's Syunik Province linking Azerbaijan to its Nakhchivan exclave.
