US expects favorable conditions for business in Georgia
The United States expects Georgia to provide stable and favourable conditions for American business, the State Department has stated, following a meeting between an American delegation and both Georgian government officials and the opposition in Tbilisi from May 25 to 28.
It stressed the importance of cooperation for the full development of bilateral relations, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
After the visit, the State Department highlighted Washington’s interest in expanding commercial cooperation, improving access for American goods and investment, and deepening partnership in the security and energy sectors.
For this to be achieved, Washington said it expects a stable political environment in Tbilisi and favourable conditions for US businesses.
“A functioning democracy requires a political opposition that engages with state institutions to represent the interests of the citizens who voted for it. Political stability and effective representation of the opposition are among the factors that make Georgia a reliable partner,” it added.
