US–Kazakhstan ties advance with talks on critical minerals and AI cooperation
On June 15, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Ben Black, Executive Director of the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), to discuss expanding investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States.
Tokayev stated that the visit by the American official followed up on agreements reached earlier in Washington and marked an important step toward strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States.
During the meeting, both sides discussed potential cooperation in several key sectors, including critical minerals, transport and logistics, agriculture and agro-industry, digitalisation, and artificial intelligence.
Special attention was also given to the possibility of opening a permanent DFC representative office in Kazakhstan.
