US, Russian top diplomats hold talks on sidelines of UN General Assembly

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is holding talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in New York, TASS reports.

The meeting is taking place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, where both officials are attending high-level events.

The meeting is being held at the Lotte New York Palace Hotel, the same venue where the two officials held talks a year ago.

Separately, TASS also reported that Lavrov has more than 30 meetings scheduled on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
