US State Department officials to visit Georgia in May
Georgia is working to restore its relationship with the United States and aims to reestablish a strategic partnership between the two countries, according to Georgian lawmaker Levan Makhashvili.
Speaking to Georgian media, Makhashvili said that representatives of the US State Department are expected to visit Georgia in May for meetings with the country’s leadership, as Caliber.Az reports.
He noted that recent efforts have focused on rebuilding ties across multiple sectors, including security, the economy, and education, following a period of strained relations.
“Essentially, in the areas of security, economy, education, and other directions, significant steps have been taken in the recent period to restore the frozen relations left by the previous administration and to discuss the next steps,” Makhashvili said.
