US Treasury chief calls for limiting Russian oil prices
US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called on Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Australia, and Singapore to support the idea of a Russian oil price cap.
The request was made on the margins of the summit of the heads of finance and central banks of the G20, which takes place on the island of Bali on July 15 and 16, Reuters reports with reference to the message of the press service of the US Treasury.
The G20 includes Australia, Canada, Saudi Arabia, the United States, India, Russia, South Africa, Türkiye, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, China, Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea.
Yellen urged her colleagues to support the idea of limiting prices on Russian raw materials in order to reduce the country's revenues, as well as to solve the food crisis.
