Uzbek, Kyrgyz leaders review regional cooperation, connectivity initiatives
Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Japarov to discuss avenues for deepening bilateral ties.
During the call, the presidents focused on strengthening Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations, reinforcing friendship, good-neighborly cooperation, and a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Both presidents praised the steady growth in bilateral trade and reviewed ongoing industrial cooperation projects. They also discussed joint work on major infrastructure initiatives, including the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway and the Kambarata Hydropower Plant, underscoring their shared commitment to regional connectivity and economic development.
In addition, Mirziyoyev and Japarov exchanged views on pressing regional issues and coordinated on the schedule of forthcoming bilateral and multilateral engagements, signaling continued collaboration and alignment on strategic priorities.
