Uzbek leader receives invitation from Trump to attend G20 summit
US President Donald Trump has invited the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to attend the next meeting of the Peace Council as well as the upcoming G20 summit in Miami, according to Uzbekistan’s presidential press service.
The information was provided by Presidential Press Secretary Sherzod Asadov, according to TASS.
In a letter addressed to Mirziyoyev, Trump gave a high assessment of the Uzbek leader’s participation in the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council, which took place in February this year. The US president highlighted what he described as the impressive achievements of Uzbekistan under Mirziyoyev’s leadership and also expressed gratitude for the invitation to visit the country.
“President Donald Trump, in turn, invited the head of our state to the next meeting of the Peace Council, as well as to the G20 summit in Miami,” Asadov said.
The planned engagements are expected to provide an opportunity for further dialogue between Washington and Tashkent within both multilateral and bilateral frameworks.
