Uzbek president to visit Türkiye for strategic cooperation talks
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to pay an official visit to Türkiye on January 29 at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Uzbekistan’s presidential press service said.
The visit to Ankara will include the fourth meeting of the Uzbek–Turkish Strategic Cooperation Council, to be chaired by the two heads of state, Caliber.Az reports per Uzbek media.
Talks will focus on further expanding the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, with particular attention to deepening political dialogue, boosting bilateral trade, advancing cooperation projects in key sectors of the economy, and strengthening transport connectivity.
The agenda also includes discussions on expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges, as well as an exchange of views on pressing regional and international issues.
A substantial package of bilateral agreements is expected to be signed following the summit talks. In addition, the two leaders are scheduled to take part in a number of humanitarian events during the visit.
