Uzbekistan, Egypt discuss expansion of strategic cooperation in Cairo PHOTO
Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held talks with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in Cairo, where both sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations across political, economic, and cultural fields.
In a post on Telegram, Saidov said the meeting focused on expanding the comprehensive partnership between Uzbekistan and Egypt, with particular emphasis on boosting trade, investment, and industrial cooperation, Caliber.Az reports.
According to the Uzbek foreign minister, the two sides explored opportunities to elevate economic ties to a “qualitatively new level,” including the development of transport and logistics links and the implementation of joint projects.
Discussions also covered cooperation in cultural, humanitarian, educational, and religious spheres, which both parties described as important for strengthening people-to-people relations and bilateral friendship.
Regional and international developments were also addressed during the meeting. Saidov said Uzbekistan appreciates Egypt’s role in promoting stability in the Middle East and its efforts to resolve conflicts through political and diplomatic means.
