Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan to cooperate in space sphere
Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan intend to jointly launch artificial satellites to conduct research and analyse data.
On 2-3 September 2024, a delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan visited Astana to participate in the “Ministerial Conference on Digital Inclusion and Transformation in Asia and the Pacific” organised by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), Caliber.Az reports, citing Uzbek media.
As part of the event, Minister Sherzod Shermatov met with Zhaslan Madiev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan.
The two sides discussed prospects for cooperation, focusing on digital skills training, the state of regional cooperation in digital inclusion and transformation, and opportunities to strengthen it.
Moreover, the parties discussed the possibility of cooperation between the two countries in launching mutual constellations of artificial satellites to study and analyse data, with the preparation of proposals by the end of this year.
