Uzbekistan's president heads to US for C5+1 summit
On November 4, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded his working visit to Qatar and departed for Washington to attend the C5+1 Summit of Central Asian and US leaders, the press service of the Uzbek president announced.
“At the invitation of US President Donald Trump, the leader of our country departed on a working visit to Washington, where he will take part in the C5+1 Summit of the leaders of Central Asian countries and the United States,” the statement said, Caliber.Az reports.
The press service said Mirziyoyev’s program in Washington includes meetings with President Trump, members of the US Senate and the House of Representatives, as well as heads of American ministries and agencies.
As part of the business agenda, a series of meetings and events are also planned with executives of major American companies and financial institutions.
Following the summit and related events, several bilateral and multilateral documents are expected to be signed, the press service added.
The C5+1 Summit, scheduled for November 6, 2025, in Washington, D.C., represents a pivotal moment in U.S.-Central Asia relations, marking the format's 10th anniversary since its inception in 2015. Hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump, the gathering will bring together the leaders of the five Central Asian republics—Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
