Various countries use Karabakh issue to destroy Armenia PM says
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that the Karabakh issue has been wielded by various countries for a long time to destroy Armenia.
Pashinyan made these remarks in response to criticism from opposition MP Anna Grigoryan, who noted that the prime minister failed to mention “ethnic cleansing” in Karabakh allegedly perpetrated by Azerbaijan a year ago during his recent UN address, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
Grigoryan accused the prime minister of abandoning Karabakh for political expediency.
Pashinyan expressed the belief that the conflict has been used as a tool to undermine Armenian statehood. In his address at the UN, Pashinyan stated that he conveyed what he deemed essential for the interests of Armenia and its people.
He also criticised the opposition for catering to the interests of Armenia's adversaries. Pashinyan emphasised that the Armenian people deserve to know the full truth about their history.
The Armenian opposition periodically accuses the current authorities of losing Karabakh.
