Wagner boss chides US, EU for imposing “illegal” sanctions
The journalists have asked the Founder of Wagner Group private military company (PMC) Yevgeny Prigozhin whether he tried to circumvent the EU and the US sanctions imposed on himself and the company.
Prigozhin answered that such measures are illegal, according to the press service of his company Concord.
“They [sanctions] were adopted without the consent of the Russian state bodies, therefore, any sanctions are nothing for me,” he said.
The businessman added that taking into account the modern development of information technologies, which allows to freely carry out any processes, these restrictions do not affect anything. The businessman urged the "English" themselves to be afraid of their sanctions.
National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications at the White House John Kirby said on January 20 that the US had decided to designate Wagner, a private military company, as a "serious transnational criminal organisation" and intended to impose new sanctions against it next week.
