Washington intends to reconcile Yerevan with Baku and Ankara Political scientist Sargsyan's commentary on visit of CIA chief to Yerevan
Political analyst Suren Sargsyan commented on CIA chief William Burns' visit to Yerevan.
He made the statement on his Facebook page, Caliber.Az reports quoting Armenian media.
"On the visit of William Burns
US policy in the region remains unchanged - full settlement of Armenian-Turkish and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. In this regard, the partner of the CIA is not the NSS (National Security Service), but the Secretary of the Security Council, since Armen Grigoryan, who negotiates with Hajiyev, is also responsible for the Armenian-Azerbaijani "reconciliation" (I think that is why the NSS says they are not aware of the visit).
I am sure that the agenda of the visit is American. Armenia has no agenda.
And the main targets of the CIA in our region are Iran and Russia. At this point, the goal is to push Russia out of the South Caucasus (which is why Iran is quite calm). It is believed that the Russian military presence in Armenia and Karabakh prevents the final settlement of the Armenian-Turkish and Armenian-Azerbaijani relations (incidentally, this can explain that information about the visit first appeared in the Russian media).
From this point of view, it is also important to understand where Burns came from to Yerevan and where he went after Yerevan," he wrote.
