Washington rules out military presence in Gaza, says vice president
US Vice President JD Vance has firmly reiterated that the United States will not deploy military personnel to Gaza, reaffirming a position consistently upheld by President Donald Trump and top US defence officials.
“There are not going to be American boots on the ground in Gaza. The President of the United States has made that very clear. All of our military leadership has made that very clear,” Vance stated during a press conference held in Kiryat Gat, southern Israel, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The remarks were delivered at a US-led mission site tasked with monitoring the ceasefire currently in place between Israel and Hamas.
Emphasizing a limited and strategic role, Vance added that the United States would restrict its involvement to providing "useful coordination," suggesting continued support through intelligence-sharing, logistics, and diplomatic engagement rather than direct military presence.
