Weapons cache discovered along Kazakh president's motorcade route
Kazakh authorities have uncovered a cache of weapons along the route of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s motorcade in the Turkistan region.
During routine checks conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Security Committee, a small arms cache was found, prompting the initiation of a criminal investigation into the matter, Caliber.Az reports per Kazakh media.
The Interior Ministry's press service stated, "A thorough range of operational and investigative measures is currently underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and to apprehend the suspects involved. Additional details will be kept confidential to maintain the integrity of the investigation."
On September 27, President Tokayev arrived in the Turkistan region for a working trip, which commenced with a visit to the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. There, he paid tribute to the poet, thinker, and spiritual teacher, who holds great significance for the Turkic world, as well as to other notable historical figures interred at the site.
