Western Azerbaijan Community urges global condemnation of Armenian Gregorian Church's actions
The Western Azerbaijan Community has called on the international community to condemn the actions of the Armenian Gregorian Church.
"According to the agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia on 19 April 2024, it was decided to take certain practical steps regarding the delimitation of the border,” Report informs, citing a Community statement.
“However, in recent days, several provocative forces in Armenia have been trying hard to prevent the implementation of this agreement, which could contribute to the achievement of lasting peace between the two countries. It is extremely worrying that religious figures of the Armenian Gregorian Church are playing an active role in these processes. These clerics are making political demands, opposing peace with Azerbaijan and openly calling for revenge and war.
The activities of the Armenian Gregorian Church against peace during the days of the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue held in Azerbaijan are regrettable and testify to their multiple goals. It should be noted that the Armenian Gregorian Church was particularly active in the expulsion of Azerbaijanis from Armenia and Armenia's military aggression against Azerbaijan.
The Western Azerbaijan Community calls on the international community and world religious leaders to condemn the actions of the Armenian Gregorian Church and support lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia," the document says.
