What do Yerevan students learn from founder of disinformation? Armenian media teases former defence ministry spokesman
Armenian media was outraged by the appearance of former press secretary of the Armenian Defence Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan at a lecture for students at Yerevan State University (YSU).
"Artsrun Hovhannisyan, the progenitor of lies and disinformation, the symbol of defeat in the 44-day war [in 2020 with Azerbaijan], published photos on his Facebook page showing him lecturing students from YSU's 6th building.
It should be noted that before the war in 2020, Artsrun Hovhannisian taught war journalism at YSU Journalism Department, but he was often absent from the classes, instead of him the main lectures were given by one of the graduate students of the YSU Journalism Department, Naira Hambartsumian.
After the war, Artsrun Hovhannissian stopped teaching at the Faculty of Journalism. Now, in fact, he has reappeared at YSU. We should also remind that he is an expert in the National Assembly and even officially travels abroad on behalf of the Defence and Security Commission, whose chairman is Andranik Kocharyan.
We tried to understand how Artsrun Hovhannisyan ended up at the YSU Faculty of History, maybe YSU developed a new program to falsify history. Dean of YSU Faculty of History Edik Minasyan told "Hraparak" that Hovhannisyan doesn't conduct classes at the Faculty of History, he only conducts training for the students of the Faculty of International Relations and History, introducing students to certain skills.
You can guess what kind of training. For example, 'How to falsify reality in military situations', 'How to fool the public by giving false information and misleading', 'How to put a soft pillow under the heads of the army, political circles, and opposition, hinting that we are winning and thereby preparing the ground for complete surrender of the country',” Hraparak sneers.
