WHO European office in Moscow to be closed, relocated to Denmark
At a special session of the Regional Committee for Europe of the World Health Organization, it was decided to close the WHO European Office in Moscow.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of the head of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko.
“The WHO European Office for the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases in Moscow will be closed. Its functions will be transferred to Copenhagen.
It is noted that the absolute majority of Member States voted for the relevant decision today at a special session of the European Regional Committee of the World Health Organization.
Lyashko added that Ukraine initiated this process in May last year.
“Today, Russia once again showed its true face, trying to delay the process due to manipulations and coalitions with countries dependent on it. However, this did not change the result. There will be no manipulations,” the minister explained.
