Yemen’s Houthis fired missiles toward Israel amid regional escalation
Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis said on June 8 that they had fired a salvo of missiles toward Israel, successfully hitting intended targets.
This comes after Iran and Israel restarted attacking each other with missiles, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iran International.
Yemen is home to the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.
The Houthis have fired missiles at Israel during the Israel-Hamas war and later, but haven't been fully involved in the Iran war.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that its aerospace forces had launched an operation targeting Israel’s Nevatim and Tel Nof airbases.
The corps also said it is fully prepared to carry out larger-scale operations across all fronts.
According to Iranian officials, the strikes were retaliation for Israel’s attacks on Lebanon.
The Israeli side claims that air defence systems intercepted all launched missiles. It later hit military targets in Iran.
