Yerevan and Brussels discuss security sector issues
On November 28, Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan met with members of the joint delegation of the European External Action Service and the Directorate General of International Partnership of the European Commission on Neighborhood Issues and Negotiations on Enlargement and Migration.
The office of the Armenian Security Council reported that “the parties discussed the prospects and ways of Armenia-EU cooperation in the security sector,” Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media.
In this context, A. Grigoryan emphasized the activities of the EU reconnaissance and observation mission as “a good example of Armenia-EU cooperation, and the RA-EU interaction within the framework of the European Peace Fund as a promising area of cooperation”.
“Armen Grigoryan also emphasized the reforms being carried out in Armenia are aimed at democratic control over the armed forces, emphasizing their importance within the framework of bilateral Armenia-EU cooperation,” the statement reads.
