Yerevan arrests woman for high treason Another spy scandal in Armenia

The Armenian Court of Appeal granted the prosecutor's request for the arrest of an Armenian citizen, who is being accused of high treason.

Earlier, the court of the first instance released her on bail, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.

Proceeding from the investigation, which is being conducted by the corresponding department of the National Security Service, such information was obtained that an Armenian citizen, assisted her husband in transferring military data to foreign special services.

The woman asked her relatives about the address of one of the military units at the request of her husband in 2021, informed her husband, then foreign intelligence obtained this information.

The criminal case with the indictment was brought to court in April 2022. The court of general jurisdiction granted the defence’s request to release her on bail in October. The prosecutor’s office appealed the decision, and a higher court granted the prosecutor’s request on November 21.
