Yerevan gears up for Republic Day with artillery and air show

Three artillery shots will be fired in central Yerevan, followed by a flyover by aircraft of Armenia’s Armed Forces, as part of preparations for upcoming Republic Day celebrations.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Defence, the activities are part of organisational measures ahead of the May 28 parade, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

The ministry clarified that the artillery fire and aerial manoeuvres are linked specifically to rehearsals and logistical preparations for the event.

Republic Day, observed on May 28, is a national holiday in Armenia.
