Yerevan, Paris discuss military cooperation
Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan has received the newly appointed Ambassador of France to Armenia Olivier Decotigny, as well as the newly appointed military attache, Lt Col Arnaud Elie.
“The defence minister congratulated Ambassador Decotigny and Lt Col Arnaud Elie on the start of their mission in Armenia and wished them fruitful cooperation,” Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media.
According to the Armenian Defence Ministry, during the meeting, the parties noted the importance of creating a military attaché office at the French Embassy in Yerevan, which was carried out within the framework of an agreement reached in September 2022 between Defence Ministers Suren Papikyan and Sebastien Lecornu.
“Several issues were discussed regarding the current course of the Armenian-French cooperation in the field of defence, development prospects, as well as regional security,” the report says.
