Yerevan says US supports Armenia in security sector enhancement

The Armenian Ministry of Defense stated in response to media inquiries that the US and other international partners have been offering advisory support as part of the ongoing reform of the Armenian Armed Forces.

This support may be either short-term or long-term, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

The Armenian Ministry of Defence did not provide further details, noting that the American side has already offered the necessary clarifications.

On July 18, US Deputy Secretary of State Uzra Zeya announced that a US military representative would serve in the Armenian Ministry of Defense. Media seeking additional information contacted the US Embassy in Armenia, which stated that Washington aims to assist Yerevan in improving its security management.
