Yerevan, Washington sign landmark TRIPP framework agreement VIDEO
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has signed a framework agreement between Armenia and the United States on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.
The signing took place during a live broadcast on the Armenian Foreign Ministry’s social media page, where Mirzoyan said he had signed the document, which had already been certified by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The two sides initialled the agreement at Yerevan’s Zvartnots Airport on May 26, stating that it would be formally signed in the near future.
On August 8, 2025, in Washington, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in the presence of the US president, signed a seven-point joint declaration. One of its provisions addresses the opening of the Zangezur corridor, also referred to as the “Trump Route” — a 42-kilometre passage through Armenian territory aimed at unblocking regional transport links.
A central element of the agreement is the creation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), a US-developed transit corridor across southern Armenia designed to connect mainland Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan exclave and enhance regional connectivity.
