Zangazur Corridor to unlock east-west route via Türkiye, says ambassador
Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün has highlighted the strategic significance of the Zangazur Corridor, saying it will establish a key east-west transit route through Türkiye.
Speaking ahead of the Eurasian Young Entrepreneurs Forum (EYBF2025), he emphasized that Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations have deepened into a framework of regional integration, positioning the corridor as a vital link in the emerging global order, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“The long-standing principle of ‘one nation, two states’ between Azerbaijan and Türkiye has evolved from a slogan into a framework of strategic geopolitical unity,” Akgün said.
Ambassador Akgün highlighted the growing depth of bilateral relations, noting that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye has extended into the eastern Caspian region and reached the level of integration within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS),
“The region where we are located is poised to become one of the most pivotal in the emerging global order, as the Middle Corridor passes through it,” Ambassador Akgün stated. “With the opening of the Zangazur Corridor, an east-west route through Türkiye will be established. Over the next decade, we anticipate significant progress resulting from these developments.”
