Zelenskyy appoints new prosecutor general of Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has officially appointed Ruslan Kravchenko as the country’s new Prosecutor General.
The appointment was formalised by Presidential Decree No. 416/2025, published on June 21 on the president’s official website, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
Earlier, on June 16, President Zelenskyy submitted a nomination to the Verkhovna Rada for Kravchenko’s appointment. The parliament approved the motion the following day, with 273 lawmakers voting in favor, 5 against, 23 abstaining, and 20 not participating in the vote.
In 2021, Kravchenko headed the Bucha District Prosecutor’s Office in Kyiv region. He held this position until 2023, when he participated in the competition for the position of head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). In April 2023, he was appointed head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, and on December 30, 2024, he was appointed head of the State Tax Service.
