Zelenskyy names "red lines" in any future negotiations with Russia
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has defined his government's "red lines" in any potential peace negotiations with Russia.
The Ukrainian leader has stated that the matter surrounding the lost sovereign territories that are currently under Russian control is a breaking point, Caliber.Az reports citing Ukrainian media.
"We will not recognize any territories occupied by the Russian Federation. This is a fact. This is the most important red line," Zelenskyy reiterated.
He also emphasized that following a ceasefire that is currently being negotiated between Moscow and Kyiv under the mediation of Washington, a step-by-step plan must be developed to end the conflict, which would include the lifting of martial law and holding elections.
As Caliber.Az recalls, the Kremlin is currently reviewing the statements following the talks in Jeddah between the US and Ukraine, where Zelenskyy's representatives have agreed the American proposal to pause the war in Ukraine for 30 days.
