Zelenskyy orders to clarify reasons for helicopter crash in Brovary
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has extended condolences to the relatives and friends of those killed in the recent helicopter crash in Brovary, Kyiv Oblast.
The head of state also instructed the country’s Security Service, the National Police and other authorised bodies to establish all the circumstances of the tragedy, Ukrainska Pravda reports, citing the president’s Telegram channel.
Zelenskyy said the helicopter crash took the lives of 15 people, including Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyy, his first deputy Yevhen Yenin, Interior Ministry State Secretary Yuriy Lubkovych, their assistants, and the helicopter crew.
According to the president, twenty-five people, including 10 children, were injured following the accident. The exact number of tragedy victims is yet to be established.
"As of this minute, three children have died. The pain is indescribable. The helicopter fell on the grounds of one of the kindergartens," Zelenskyy added on January 18.
"My condolences to all the families and friends of the victims! Denis, Yevgeny, Yuri, the MIA team... true patriots of Ukraine. My sincere memory! Light memory to all whose lives were taken by this black morning!" wrote the Ukrainian president.
