Zelenskyy prepares for Ramstein meeting to address conflict resolution
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced preparations for a meeting of the contact group at the Ramstein military base in Germany, where specific actions aimed at ending the conflict will be discussed. He shared this update via his Telegram channel.
Scheduled for October 12, this meeting will mark the 25th gathering of the group, but notably the first attended by leaders, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“We will present a plan for victory, clear, concrete steps for a just end to the war,” he stated.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the resolve of Ukraine's partners, along with strengthened support for Ukraine, is crucial in stopping Russian aggression.
On October 1, he indicated that this upcoming Ramstein meeting could be particularly significant. The last gathering to support Ukraine took place in early September, during which discussions included the provision of air defence equipment.
The inaugural meeting at the Ramstein airbase was held on April 26, 2022, focusing on Ukraine's military capabilities and coordinating assistance.
In a recent video message, Zelenskyy described the current situation on the front lines as “very, very difficult.” He urged, “Everything that can be done this fall, everything we can achieve, must be achieved.”
He pledged to provide Western allies with detailed information and arguments to secure effective outcomes on the battlefield. He also described the upcoming NATO leaders' meeting in the Ramstein format as crucial for Ukraine to “ensure results in the coming months.”
On September 23, Zelenskyy travelled to New York to participate in events during the UN General Assembly's high-level week, where he also engaged in bilateral talks with several foreign leaders.
