Zelenskyy urges Western allies to speed up air defence support
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged Western allies to move swiftly on delivering promised air defence support, following an overnight Russian missile and drone attack that injured 11 people, including a child, and damaged civilian infrastructure across several regions.
In a post on X, Zelenskyy called on partners to fulfil commitments made at the NATO Summit, stressing the need to accelerate agreed support packages. He also urged faster progress on licensing agreements for Patriot air defence systems and the development of a joint European anti-ballistic defence project, saying protecting civilians remained Ukraine's top priority, Caliber.Az reports.

According to Zelenskyy, Russia launched more than 120 drones and 12 missiles overnight, about half of them ballistic. He said Ukrainian air defences intercepted most of the incoming targets but were unable to shoot down the ballistic missiles.
The president said 11 people, including a child, were injured in Kyiv, where civilian infrastructure was struck even before an air raid alert was issued. Apartment buildings, office premises and a theological seminary were among the sites damaged in the capital, while emergency services continued rescue and recovery operations.
Recovery efforts were also underway in the Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions following the overnight attacks, Zelenskyy said.
