Journalist: Iranian people's curse drives national team out of 2022 World Cup

Iranian IMNA News Agency correspondent Ali Karimi has commented on the fans' discontent during the Iranian national team players' singing the national anthem before their match against the US (0-1) at the 2022 World Cup.

The players showed their fear and didn't sympathise with the people, so they were cursed by the Iranian people. It was the people's curse that drove the national team out of the World Cup. Football is not the priority of the Iranian people right now, according to Telecom Asia.

Almost everyone in Iran is grieving because of the chaos and the daily killings of young people. If the voice of the Iranian people doesn't reach the world, this madness will continue.

The Iranian national team lost to the US by a score of 0-1 on November 29. The only goal of the game was scored by midfielder Christian Pulisic.  

Carlos Queiroz's team finished the World Cup 2022 with three points and placed third in Group B. The Portuguese specialist announced his resignation after his team's departure from the World Cup.
