Iranian deputy FM rejects US claims of new diplomatic talks
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanchi has dismissed reports about a potential new round of negotiations between Iran and the US.
Speaking after a meeting with members of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Ravanchi refuted claims from American officials regarding a scheduled date for renewed talks, stating that no such arrangements have been made and labeling the reports as false, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
He also addressed recent hostilities, noting that on June 13, the Israeli regime launched a military campaign against Iran, targeting military, nuclear, and residential areas for 12 consecutive days.
On June 22, the US joined the conflict by carrying out airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities located in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. In retaliation, Iranian military forces responded forcefully. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force executed 22 waves of missile strikes against the Israeli regime under Operation True Promise III, causing significant damage in the occupied territories.
Additionally, in response to the US strikes, Iran launched missile attacks on Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest American military installation in West Asia. A ceasefire implemented on June 24 has since brought the conflict to a temporary standstill.
