Russia’s envoy: EU reassessing energy policy amid Middle East escalations

Kirill Dmitriev, the Special Envoy of the President of Russia for investment and economic cooperation, said the European Union is beginning to recognise what he described as the consequences of its “disastrous” energy decisions. 

“A major shift in the EU's position as they begin to realize how their disastrous energy decisions created enormous risks, which are now materializing due to the conflict in Iran,” Dmitriev wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports. 

He noted that the "EU’s atonement may be late."

His comments came in response to a report by the Financial Times that states that EU urges Ukraine to allow access to Druzhba pipeline carrying Russian oil.
