Russian FM: No evidence Iran sought to develop nuclear weapons
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that there is still no evidence that Iran was developing nuclear weapons.
Lavrov made the statement at a press conference following talks with Brunei’s Second Foreign Minister Erywan Yusof, stressing that this had been the main, if not the only, justification for the war, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
He added that both the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and US professional intelligence agencies confirm that Iran was not producing and had not attempted to produce nuclear weapons.
“There are confirmations from both the IAEA and American professional intelligence services that Iran did not produce and did not attempt to produce nuclear weapons,” the minister emphasised.
