Construction of Aghdam-Fuzuli highway underway in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region

The State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads has said that the Aghdam-Fuzuli highway is being rapidly built in Karabakh region.
The 64.8-kilometres-long and a 15-metres-wide highway will have four traffic lanes, the State Agency told Caliber.Az.
The width of the roadsides will reach 3.75 metres, the roadbed will be 26.5 metres. The highway is being built according to the first technical category.
A new 26.5-metres-wide highway, a road base, a 380-metres-long retaining wall, water culverts of various diameters, as well as backup crossings for underground and communication lines in required places are being constructed.
Nine reserve crossings, 16 water culverts have been built on the 0-32.4 kilometre section of the highway within the project.
Moreover, four crossings and 11 communication pipes, 25 culverts of various diameters were built in this part of the project.
As part of the project, four road bridges are being built on 1-, 6-, 37-, and 63-kilometer road sections. They are still being worked on to lay piles, pour concrete, and build piers.
The highway passes through the Aghdam, Aghjabadi, Fuzuli districts.
People will be able to comfortably travel from Barda to Aghdam and Fuzuli, as well as in the opposite direction thanks to this highway. The highway construction will contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.
