Agressive rhetoric of Armenia derails peace agenda between Baku, Yerevan

The Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan has strongly condemned the aggressive rhetoric of the Armenian leadership towards Azerbaijan that has been growing in recent days.

A spokesperson to the ministry, Aykhan Hajizada said that such statements, ignoring international efforts to promote the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia, serve to deliberately aggravate the situation in the region.

“As practice shows, the Armenian side, before committing military provocations, conducts a similar massive disinformation campaign in order to shift responsibility to the Azerbaijani side. The accusation of Azerbaijan of ethnic cleansing and military rhetoric by the leadership of Armenia, which for 30 years has carried out ethnic cleansing and massacres of Azerbaijanis, kept our territories under occupation, and devastated cities and villages, is another example of hypocrisy," Hajizada said, according to Report.

'To establish peace in the region, the leadership of Armenia must abandon aggressive rhetoric, stop aggressive activities, such as encroachment on the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and interference in internal affairs."
