Western Azerbaijan Community thanks President Aliyev for international support
On July 3–4, the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) was held in the city of Khankendi, Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the summit, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, raised the issue of the return of Western Azerbaijanis — a matter that was reflected in the Khankendi Communiqué adopted at the conclusion of the summit, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The statement emphasised that raising the issue of Western Azerbaijan within the framework of such a reputable platform is of great importance in terms of strengthening international support for the peaceful, safe, and dignified return of Western Azerbaijanis.
"The Western Azerbaijan Community expresses its gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, for consistently and resolutely bringing the issue of their return to the international agenda and securing unequivocal support from the international community in this regard," the statement noted.
