At the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by ADA University Rector Hafiz Pashayev, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, Presidential Aide and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev.
The speakers analysed Azerbaijan’s achievements and future plans in various areas including economy, security, energy, culture, and communication.
Key topics highlighted included expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation, Azerbaijan’s mediation and climate diplomacy efforts, and strengthening partnerships within regional and international organisations.
Special focus was placed on the post-conflict regional environment, ongoing large-scale reconstruction in territories liberated from occupation, and the progress and challenges in the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalisation process. The speakers emphasised the critical need to address challenges to peace, including the elimination of territorial claims against Azerbaijan currently enshrined in the Armenian constitution.
Throughout the consultation, panel sessions will explore subjects such as economic and energy diplomacy, connectivity, judicial and humanitarian diplomacy, parliamentary relations, diaspora activities, and enhancing the efficiency of diplomatic service bodies.
The consultation will culminate on July 9, coinciding with the professional holiday of Azerbaijan’s diplomatic service employees, with a special session scheduled in Khankendi to further underline the significance of diplomatic efforts in the region’s ongoing transformation.
